Welcome to A.N. Myer's Specialized School to Community
(formerly Special Needs)
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to assist students with special needs to further develop their social, vocational, and life skills, while acquiring the literacy, numeracy and academic skills to reach their potential.
OUR PROGRAM
Our program follows the secondary school timetable with students in five classes each day. All students will participate in Literacy and Numeracy programs that are designed to meet their unique needs. Physical and Health education are designed to encourage healthy lifestyles and positive social relationships. Electives may include visual arts, music, computers and technology, construction, and culinary arts. Work-related skills are developed through Co-op opportunities that are available both within the school, and the surrounding community.
Students are also considered for social integration into other classes whenever possible, and student mentors and peer tutors enhance opportunities for developing appropriate social skills.
